I adopted two kittens a few weeks ago. They both act fine, wrestle alot (they're sisters), and have healthy appetites. One of them gets attacks maybe once a day of something, but I can't make out whether it's coughing or sneezing. She's only 11 weeks old so I'm very worried. They had all of their shots and first round of worm treatment (we adopted them from a Second Chance Shelter) so it doesn't seem that many cat diseases could be the culprit, but then I worry if she's sick, perhaps has an infection. After the spell she acts normal again. But we're trying to figure out if she's sneezing or coughing because it's probably 10 or so in a row of the little noises. What else should I be looking for to see if she's sick and can I tell whether it's a cough or a sneeze? Okay, thanks. So I think it is a sneeze; that's what it sounded like initially, but because there was so many of them in a row, we thought perhaps they were little coughs. Could she have an infection or allergy? moreOpen Question: I gave my 2 year old cat some worm medicine, now I keep finding things that look like sesame seeds????
I saw a worm by my cats but, so I went to walmart and got some roundworm medicine for him. Now I am finding a lot of little seed like things everywhere. Is this dead worms? Does this mean they are gone? Can my family be harmed by this? moreOpen Question: Are feral cats permanently afraid of humans?
A stray cat made her home in my garden a few months ago. Last March she had a litter of 3, one of whom passed away. The remaining three are still in my garden, having changed several locations. I have cared for them as much as I can. I de-flead the kittens and then took one of them that looked unnecessarily scrawny to get de-wormed. I feed them, give them vitamins and check on them a few times a day. But they are still terrified of me. They know I mean them no harm, but they are still scared of me. The mother growls every time I go near them. In spite of all I have done for them, they seem to still think I mean them harm. I have also noticed furtive and what seems unnatural behavior. They hide in dark places, they refuse to play with any of the toys I have given them and they sneak around. I want them to be free, playful and happy. Instead they are fearful and cowering. The mother may have developed these traits after being treated badly by some humans, but all the kittens know of humans is my kind behavior. Is fear in feral cats learned behaviour? Do cats pass on their fear to their young? Or is this the essential nature of all cats? How come domesticated cats have completely different personalities? Has their fear gene died off due to years of living with humans? moreOpen Question: i have worms on my BED!!!!!! whats the cause? what should i do.?
i laid down finding these worms on my bed.tiny black looking worms with antennas going in and out of my mattress threads. my dad took a worm and smashed it finding red blood gushing. are they biting me? whats usually that cause?...should i throw my matress away. my cats sometimes sleep on my bed. its been a while now that they have been on my bed. but ive never found anything like this. moreOpen Question: Will a bird sanctuary put a wild bird down that my friend found?
My friend rescued a little bird from his cat last night. The cat would of finished it off but he scared the cat away and then rescued the bird, but by then the other bird that was flying around tweeting alot had flown away (we're presuming it was the mother). My friend said that the birds wing is damaged and it can only hop, but the bird is quite healthy and hes been feeding the bird worms and giving it water (the bird does the typical mouth up, wings back "feed me!" thing that birds do when their mothers feed them worms in the nest) The bird lets him stroke it and doesnt shy away too much. Now apart from the obvious that he shouldnt of interefered (but he cant be blamed, he was only trying to help) what should he do? Most people will say to take him to a bird sanctuary, but he cant be assured that they wont the little bird down and he'll like to look after the bird himself as he cant trust anyone else with the bird. Oh and the birds description sounds like a starling, but I havent seen it yet. What the hell? Dont let a cat outside? You might aswell say your not going to take your dog out for a walk incase he goes to the toilet and some child puts his hand in the area he went to the toilet (you can clean it up but the germs will remain, unless you carry bleach around with you everywhere).. Hes not a bird owner, he cares for the bird as it was harmed anyways, immaterial to wether or not his cat was responsible, its the same as if someone was to hit a fox in their car by accident, they may not be "fox lovers" but they are still concerned for it. Oh and LB4animals, I only said that he shouldnt of done it "theoretically" because people would of instantly said "oh no, you shouldnt of done that" and stuff. Personally, I feel that if we can open sanctuary's and zoo's im sure "interfering" with wildlife is okay as well (interfering as in... helping a harmed animal and so on). moreOpen Question: help ! sick male cat.?
I have a cat, he is about 4-6 years old. He has always been healthy, never been sick before or anything. Well he recently came home one day and he was HUGE, his stomach was round and hard, he has NEVER been obese or anything, he's very active. My aunt who is a vet tech checked him out and said that it feels perfectly round. We gave him a pill to kill certian worms, as well as some liquid on his back. He has pooped yet there were no worms. His poop looks as if it is mucusy, it's not a brown color but its more a brown with yellow in it. He is still eating and drinking, but he acts bothered because he hasn't been wanting out side. We're planning to take him to the vet first thing tomorrow morning, I just want to know opinions on what this may be.. so we know what to suggest. :( moreVoting Question: Can someone translate these to Spanish for me?

My cat is normally the hungriest little kitty and will whine until my fiance or I feed her. She gets one third of a cup of purina cat food (for hairball and weight management) around seven am and another third of a cup around five in the evening. Normally she gobbles up her food right away but in the past week or so she has been grazing on it and whining in between meals even though she still has food available to her. Twice in the last week she has thrown up. She threw up in two spots this morning, some brown crap that looked more like diarrhea. She hasn't really been acting strange other than what I mentioned. She did have worms but we had her dewormed at the beginning of the year. eta: luvexotics, the kind of food she eats is purina but the first five ingredients are real food and not fillers. None of them are corn. I believe the first ingredient was chicken but I dont have the package here at work. She does eat healthy food. I was thinking it was possible the food was spoiled but I wasn't sure if cat food could be spoiled or not. moreVoting Question: My dog is sick or something and i dont knoq what it is can someone give me some tips b4 i take him to te vet.?

OK so there is this wood percker that was totally runing my housw made three huge holes on the side of the house, and I got so sick of it had to have repair guys come in twice. So sent my cat outside (he's an outdoor cat anyway) to scare the bird away. My cat has never killed anything in his whole life he plays with both my friends brids ( he has a dove and a macaw) and my guinea pig. Nedless to say he killed the bird, and I felt horrible I even burried the poor thing. Two days later I hear peep peep peep when in my room I go outside and look where the hole was and there are two baby wood peckers, I feel even worse now. I have the babies in an old cage with warm blankets, water and I dug up some worms for them. I called the wildlife center and he told me someone will come pick them on either Wens or Thurs. What am I suppose to do now? moreResolved Question: Why does my cat wake me up in the middle of the night?
My cat used to be very independent. She never really wanted to be bothered. Over the past 2 weeks she has been acting weird. She won't shut up. In the middle of the night she will jump on the bed and start crying and will roll around. I recently discovered she had tapeworms, and I gave her medication. And we have not seen any worms. But she is still rolling around and crying like crazy. I feel bad for her because she just looks so uncomfortable. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with her???? moreVoting Question: Does my cat have worms?
Every once and a while these little white things come out of her butt, they're about the size of a grain of rice, they're not in her stool, and she eats well and is of a healthy weight. Anyone ever heard of this/know what it is? She is acting completely normal as far as eating/ activity, and her stool looks perfectly healthy (no runs). It doesn't seem to be bothering her, but how do I get rid of it? moreResolved Question: Can you solve this Riddle?
A famous artist was searching for inspiration. He paced around his room. Looking inside his wardrobe, under his bed, and even under the old, molding floor boards for something. He wanted to paint something alive. Always he painted sunsets, or oceans, never had he painted plants, or animals. He found plants were to boring, and not magnificent, but he had no grudge against animals. Later that week, he saw a worm crawling around in the dirt. He decided to paint it. It took him no time at all. He wanted to find something bigger! After days of searching, he saw a fancy looking cat. He painted it too, but still had too much time to spare. Adding as much detail as possible, he was still not satisfied. Whale watching wouldn't work because he would have to include some ocean in that. He wasn't inspired by ocean. Something old was what he wanted. A very old animal. A large, old animal, dead or alive. He wanted it to be inspiring, charming, and beautiful. He found what he was looking for, everything he wanted. There were gaps between the body parts, simple colors, time consuming, and magnificent. Although he paid money from his pocket to see such an animal, he was very satisfied. ---- Where was he to find such an animal? What was this animal he found? And what would you rate it in difficulty? 1-10. 1 being a piece of cake, 10 being so hard, you wet yourself. (P.S. I just made this up, so don't bother searching for the answer^^) I didn't actually know what the answer was going to be until about the 3rd paragraph. I just enjoy writing stories, and making riddles out of them on the spot^^ moreResolved Question: My cat has little maggot-looking worms in her poop. What kind are they and what will kill them?
They're tiny and they look like maggots, she seems to be having trouble pooping. What kind are these worms? Will Drontal kill them? She does have fleas, or she did, I just treated her with Advantage yesterday because Frontline Plus wasn't doing anything to kill the fleas. I'll give her some Drontal. Everyone, I don't need to take her to the vet because I already have Drontal here at my house. I'm not going to take my cat to a vet that will tell me what I already know -- she has tapeworms. All of the vets I've gone to have prescribed Drontal for worms. moreResolved Question: Black line in cat's eye?
I just noticed it tonight, it's like a black line in the middle of her pupil on the inside. It kinda looks like a worm or a blood vessel, but I don't think it's a worm. It's really weird. Any help is very much appreciated. I love her very much and am very worried about it. I did some searching and the only thing I could find was this: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1tpco-cats-pupil-black-line-left-eye They want $15 for the answer, but I would just take the cat to the vet for that. Any help, even something to search for would be great. moreResolved Question: Neutering and hair loss?
First...we're going to the vet in EXACTLY three hours. Yes, I'm counting. I'm that angry/upset/scared. Tater is eight/nine months old. I had him neutered April 17th. Three days ago he started tinkling in the sink and he's never tinkled anywhere except in his box. Last night when I brushed him I noticed his hair is thinning to the point he's almost bald at the base of his tail and on his back legs?!!? An hour ago I just happened to catch one of of my other cats right and HER hair looks way to thin...and now, upon closer inspection I find that a THIRD one has thin/balding spots? WTH is going on? My cats don't go outside. They've had all their shots, they're wormed, fixed, no fleas etc. They all eat REAL food. I don't get it. None of them have ever been sick...except for Carmel, the baby, who is six months old. The rest of them...NINE in total, look just fine, no hair issues at all. We've got no "squirts" no throwing up....nothing?!? They don't have sores, hot spots or rashes...just no hair! I'm scared to death Tater has contracted mange or something from the vets office and brought it home!!! I'm a frantic mess. I just can't believe this is happening to my babies! My God, I work my *ss off to do everything right!! Now this? Any ideas...before my head explodes? I'm scared to death their vet is going to tell me this is some catastrophic illness. In three hours time I'll be a babbling idiot. Well, as you can clearly see I'm halfway there already. Do you have ANY idea what this could be? I just checked all of them. It's just Tater, Panda and Fuzzy...and it's starting on the back end of all three of them. Should I take them all to the vet, all nine, since we're going anyway? I only have to pay one office visit and then $10 for each additional cat. What could be doing this to my cats????????? No, I have NO patience whatsoever. I realize that. :) Okay, sorry, I lied. 'Wire had a UTI last November. Kia- I called her back and spoke to HER instead of her "secretary." Feel MUCH better now. She said to bring the three with hair loss. Boze-are you psychic? The vet told me almost word for word what you already said. moreVoting Question: Does my cat need a companion?
I had 2 cats and one died about one year ago. Ever since then, my other cat has become very skinny and looks unhealthy. Part of me thinks it's because he needs a companion. We changed his food, gave him de-worming medicine, etc. but nothing has helped. Does he need a cat companion? moreResolved Question: My cat is constantly beeing sick (throwing up) ! Help !?
I have two cats. (Magic: female, black about 3 years old. Biggie: male white with batches about 1 year old.) About a week ago Magic started throwing up. I got home one day and there was sick everywhere. she must have been sick 7 times that day. When i examined the sick some was just food and some looked like thick black sausages (I'm assuming it was hairballs.) Biggie has been fine and never been sick. They both eat the same dry and wet food. The next day I put both cats on worming tablets (They have to take three tables for the next three weeks. 1 a week.) because i thought magic might have worms. They are both indoor cats and never go outside or have contact with any other pets. Magic has been a little better but she still throws up once every other day. Its been a week since this started now. I also thought that Magic might have been drinking from the fish tank which is in the kitchen, but ive covered that up now and her throwing up has become less but she is still beeing sick. Everytime i inspect her sick it looks like big black sausages (hairballs i think.) I am really worried, anyone have any advice ? I gave them the worming tablets because it thought they might have worms. Its Sherley's Multi Wormer. and it says on the box to worm cats every 6 months. She doesnt seem depressed or in pain. She is happy running around playing and chasing and cuddly as normal. moreVoting Question: can i catch worms from my cat and will it harm my unborn baby?

He isn't eating either. I just went to the vet to get a pill for him a couple of days ago to get rid of a tape worm. Could the pill be giving him side effects? His gums look a little pale as well. And i also noticed his (*ahem*) balls were swollen..not that I would be looking, but they are noticeably huge! over the past few months my cat as lost a lot of weight, we thought he had worms so we gave him some worm medicine. He started to get where he would only eat a few bites of food but act as if he was starving. Out of nowhere he started to throw up what little bit of food he ate. Now is has started the throw up my hair bows, all of my cats play with them and I take it away as soon as I see it but apparently it looks as if he has been eating them. Please tell me how to tell if a cat is pregnant. Advice from people who have seen a cat go through pregnancy would be good. My 2 year old female cat has gotten a bigger belly, has started to hang around home more and is eating more. But it is getting into winter so could that be the reason?? I can't take her to the vet because she is very aggresive towards them and doesn't let them touch her. They have to sedate her just to give her, her shots and worming!!! We found her down the drain next to our house a year ago and took her to the vet to get fixed. They put her under anesthetic and shaved her tummy only to find a scar. They told us she was already spayed but is it possible she's not..? Also i've never seen her on heat in the time we've had her. I'm not even sure what a cat on heat looks like. I dont want to add to the stray kitten population! Please help me i'm stressing out! She can't have worms because we worm her just like your supposed to??? And no we can't keep her inside. We found her living on the streets and it would be cruel to deny her of the freedom she used to have. Besides she would go stir crazy if she was forced to spend all her time inside. We only let her roam between 9 in the morning and 9 at night. Some of that time she is home the rest of the time she spends exploring around our neighbourhood. There is a "special" home not too far from where we live and its like cat central. The people there love the cats that visit and spend time in their huge gardens. Thanks to most of you for your answers! Oh and she is definately well cared for. Without us she would be dead. And she doesn't kill wildlife. She brings the occasional cricket home for us but other than that nothing. And we live in a very quiet suburban area where only residents drive through (and she uses the drains to cross under roads). Basically every house in our street has a cat. I dont mean to be rude but not all cats can live indoors (especcially not ones that haven't grown up that way)! Thanks anyway! moreVoting Question: I have a cat, Sarah, that just had five kittens. It was a lovely experience, but Sarah?
has been pooping and peeing outside of the litter box. I am getting very frustrated. I have taken her to the vet and received no results. We have three other cats in the house, and we are trying to adjust to the new kittens. She knows what she is doing is wrong because she waits for us to leave the room before she goes. Sometimes, I will be just cleaning up an accident and I will look to my left to find another! She has been on worming meds for the past 4 weeks, she doesn't have any worms in her fecal matter though. I just don't know what to do. I didnt breed her, I think it's pretty rediculous that people assume that. All my other cats are fixed, I bought her from an adoption agency and she was already pregnant, we found out when we were going to get her fixed. moreResolved Question: help. this young cats eyes are red, dilated even in bright light, discharging and appear to be crossed outward?
this young barely an adult, if less than a year old can be considered an adult is ill. a month ago he was stocky, healthy and appeared to be a at the top of the stray male community. now hes much thinner. the eyes are horribly scary looking, there is also some scabbing on his nose, possible indication of itchiness? he also is making a constant wheeze/cough sound as he was eating and his normaly ravenous appetite was sparce. but the cough continues even when not. i also saw him licking his but a bit and he had diarreah in my building. i saw no worms though all the strays have them. this cat is less than a year and when the city took away all the litters that came last spring and summer he somehow was spared. but too small to fend for himself he hid in a hole under my building where we became close. i fed him every day, since the other cats bogart the food, he also was the half brother of two of my boycats and he loved me more than they did. hed rub his nose against my face and allow me to do i back. if i try with my cats they pull away with an ewwwww! look. although they do it to each other. but this one loved me. i spent an hour each night playing and feeding, on cold nights he would curl in my lap and i would allow this for hours so he could keep warm. eventually he grew and left his hole to join the other cats. he prospered and got very stocky and seemed fine even a month ago. now something dreadful has hit him and i need your help to narrow down what illness is ailing him so hopefully i can save him. i think its bad enough to kill him. i really need your help thanks. moreResolved Question: is my cat pregnant or does she have worms? we took in a starving stray cat.....?
she has been eating alot and at first i thought maybe just because she had been hugry for so long but now after three weeks she is still trying to eat alot which i dont let her (only a cup a day or maybe more if she runs out really early in the day) but anyway so she is pretty young like too young to be pregnant i think, maybe about 4 months old. her mid section is bloated out and feel very firm, i thought maybe she was preggo because her nipples also have swolen a little but someone told me she might have worms and if she was pregnant i would feel the little babies inside, i dont feel babys i just feel a firm belly like its full of food ....or something. she could definatlyu have worms because shes a stray and i havnt had her to a vet yet but would these be the symptoms? she looks super healthy, her fur is really shiny and she doesnt act sick. moreResolved Question: I found a worm in cats feces, it's long and disgusting?
I have been worming her with nemex and this was her fourth treatment I gave her yesterday. Do you think it was getting rid of roundworms for a final? Do I need to worm her again in another two weeks? I'm so grossed out. Pretty sure it's round worms. Long and looked like spagetti like and skinny. I did get this dewormer from the vet, they told me kittens usually get them. They also put revolution on her which is supposed to prevent all kinds of stuff. moreResolved Question: My cats stomach is hard?

I fed her and wen she finished eating she sneaked to the window sill and snatched my chicken cutlet and ran away with it. she was trying to get at it all day and every time she came close to it i would flick her with my finger. she would run away and come back for it. i pushed her, yelled at her and even pet and kissed her and NOTHING. then she attacked the other cat simply for looking at her. mind u she is a 8inch kitten.. i am really considering giving her away bcuz she even rips the garbage bags to get the food inside and makes a mess all over the place. the other day i threw out raw steak that was no good and she tilted the garbage over and ate ALL 6 raw pieces of the no good steak. im thinking she has worms.. oh and she jus had kittens last month but she was like this before the kittens for the IDIOTS that think im "neglecting" my cat!i never knew that a cat tilting over the garbage was neglectful!! i love my 7 cats jus as much as i love my MOM! if u dont know then maybe u shouldn't speak. i can leave food right in front of my other 6 cats and they will just lay there and look at it bcuz they know and understand that its mines. the greedy cat gets alot of attention from me, my husband and all the other ppl that come to my house. we play with her ALL the time. i tied a string in her room so she can play all the time. she's always running around with her boyfriend and always playing with her kittens. i allow her into the kitchen and on top of the counters while i cook at give them treats as im cooking. i bathe ALL my cats twice a month and trim their nails every week. i groom my cats and rub my face on theirs until they purr and go to sleep. i let them groom me and sleep in my arms like babies!my cats are well taken care. IS THAT NEGLECTFUL???????? also im not going to get my cat spayed if all the boys are neutered!!! what the hell for. stop "giving advice" if your just going to say non sense that isnt going to help me!!!!! moreResolved Question: question about my cat and worms?
my cat had worms, bought deworming pills, worms went away-but now, when she lays in a spot(like sleeps on my bed) i find these little off white yellowish brownish egg looking things(im guessing maybe worm eggs?) where are these coming from and how do i get rid of them? i figure they come from her rear but wanted to make sure its not coming out of her skin or hair just incase its something else-i never see them on her, just see them after she gets up from where she was sleeping at the time-thanks in advance ;) elivia-yes like small rice-i was trying to think of a better way to describe it lol-thanks moreResolved Question: Should a female cat have an inflamed vagina 2 wks after having kittens?
My cat Mojo had a litter of kittens 2 weeks ago. I took the new cat family to the vet this morning for the kittens first de-worming medication and a check up (they're all fine) but I only realised when I got home that they didn't give Mojo a check-up. She had a small amount of bleeding for a few days after the kittens were born (only a small amount - not hemorrhaging) and she's been fine for over a week now, however I noticed this afternoon the flesh around her vagina seems inflamed and swollen? She's absolutely fine in herself, healthy appetite, hyperactive and playful (as normal). Should I be concerned about the swelling or is this normal? If I try to touch it to get a better look, she flinches away so I think it must be sore. moreResolved Question: why is m cat so greedy? she eats too much?
she's excessively greedy. if i feed her a can at 10am she finishes it and then comes and pushes our other cat and finished his food. then maybe at 10:30 if we are eating she sits by us and looks at us and meows for food and if we ever get up we find her in our plate eating our food as well. its becoming a huge problem because shes a tiny cat (about8inches long) she gets fed 3 whole cans a day plus dried food thats ALWAYS out and i always make sure to refill and clean water and occasioinally milk . as soon as i start being nice to her again she starts her "eating disorder" again. now she has picked up this new habit that when she "finds" food she hisses, grunts and occasionally attacks the other cat and today she attacked me and scratched me pretty bad. my other cat is about 18 inches long and he barely eats bcuz he likes picking at it and coming bak to it later . so one can last him about 3 hours but the other cat cant see food on her plate cuz its gone in less than 5minutes. one time i fed her too much and she threw up all night bcuz i over fed her but she seemed so hungry. i know she doesnt have worms bcuz shes gaining so much weight. she just had kittens so i thought that could of been the reason for her greedyness but this behavior was long time before she got pregnant and she doesnt like feeding her kittens. she tries her hardest to ignore them. i usually clap my hands and make this kinda hissing sound that they are very familiar with (they kno they did somethin wrong when they hear it) and it keeps her away from the food for 2minutes and sometimes wen i tell her no she quickly snatches our food and runs away with it. i know that im only supposed to feed her twice a day bcuz shes so tiny but if i dont feed her 3times she'll b searching around the entire house for food and steal ours if she can moreResolved Question: is my 6 week old kitten ill??.... help.?
i got a kitten yesterday from a lady down the road. he is only 6 weeks but she assured me he was eating dry food well but wet food went straight through him and my other cat was this age when we got her (we didnt know that though). i assumed hed be fine but when i got him home i realised he had fleas and i fed him dry kitten food (a small amount) and about 20 minutes later he did a poop that was like caramel in colour and abit runny. i phoned the lady and asked her to put him back with the mom until saturday; she was reluctant but took him. the plan is to pick him up on saturday and go straight to the vets. but now im wondring wether i should have kept him and gone to the vets today? i feel really bad an dont know wether he was ill or had worms (cuz of the fleas) rather than just not ready to eat yet..... help? oh, and he walked funny and when he ran his back legs looked like a rabbits =S. was i right to take him back?? he was alert, playful, noicy and slept all in the space of two hours. he had no discharge in his eyes only a bit of sleep and his nose was fine. he didnt have a pop belly (as far as i could tell although im not a vet). moreResolved Question: 3rd eyelid of my cat's eye showing?
I've noticed my cat has an odd look in his eyes. His third eyelid keeps covering about half of his eyes, it just... strikes me as odd. A few months ago we had quite a few outdoor cats die. Their 3rd lid was usually showing. However their gums were pale and they were very lethargic and cold. Tuna is still feeling goofy, gums are pink, his ears feel kind of hot though. I'm going to take his temperature once I find my thermometer, but any ideas of what may be wrong? So I know what I'm getting in to if he has a fever and I take him to the vet. Thanks in advance. For the record: male, neutered, has all shots, no worms, normal dry/wet diet. moreResolved Question: My cat Throws up and don't know what to do?
My cat throws up his biscuits every now and then, but no hairballs. He is eating ok, as I give them tuna every 3 days as a treat but doing that helps with worming. He goes out but is very fussy what he eats, so doesn't eat outside the house. My other cat eats everything and is a good doer, but my cat sometimes look like an old man (he is 18mths), his fur goes thin and stares, I have experience with horses so know what to look for when an animal isn't well, but I just don't understand why he is this way, if anyone can help it would be great. moreResolved Question: My kitten got diarrea?
so i don'tt know what age my kitten is but most people say she is 5-6 weeks old so i gave her a small bit of de wormer in her food and gave my older cat the rest since i have evidence that she has worms. so a few hours later (now) my kitten has a small bit of diarhea. but she is acting normal and she has not been vomiting. i may of made a mistake and gave her some when she was to young. the good thing s that before she looked preggo and now she looks like her tummy has gone down a bit. she is as playful as usual but are there any precautions i need to take? she hasnt even had that much. and i found nothing in it! moreResolved Question: whats up with my cat?
I stopped giving my cat wet food because she was being sick after it all the time i only give her dry food now and and shes only sick occasionally! I cant even give her tuna because shel b sick, or if shes been out scrounging shel come back and be sick! But she seems to be hungry all the time even when there is dry food down she wont finish it shel look for food elsewhere. Im just thinking is dry food enough for her? she never used to scrounge wen she was on wet food but that was a while ago now i thought she would of got used to it by now!! shes 7 now and is wormed regulary! moreResolved Question: My cat had cat flu , wondering if she got it back?
I have a cat that we brought from the back of the courier news paper. We ended up buying two. Because they were kept in a toilet room, and had cages out the back with other cats in it. When we were looking to buy the cat, it looked like the female (rosie) had conjunctivitis. And the male (tommy) seamed fine. They are both about 10 weeks old. 8 weeks when we brought them. We ask if she had conjunctivitis and the lady said no. She just washed, them, and soap must have gotten in her eyes. Everyone new she was bullshitting. But we new she couldn't provide, and good home for them. So we asked if they had been de-sexed, wormed, vaccinated, and she said no. And then we asked is they had been treated for fleas because, they were scratching, and she said she constantlyy useAdvantagege plus, and they had both had all the lots they needed. We had them for about 2 days and when i came home from school rosie (the cat that was suspected to have conjunctivitis) her eye was covered in Liquidy yellow stuff. Mum said lets go to the vet, the cats eye couldn'tnt be opened. So we headed of to our local vet. They told us, that rosie had cat flu. And said it was really bad, and if we hadnt have brought her to the vet,she would have died. He said, tommy had narrowly excaped the flew. We were told tommy will be a very fat, cat fast. And he is very healthy. Rosie, has improved, and we wormed, them, and booked, them in to get de-sexed. We also got them vaccinated. And gave them a flea treatment. They were so badly covered in flea, and flea poo, that they're faces were black. (flea poo) Rosie, was told to come back, in two weeks, and she gained about 400g. She became more playful, and started to eat more. Though she still (its about 4 weeks, since we first visited the vet for the 1st time) isnt as heavy as tommy. Though Sunday and monday, i went to sydney. We had a friend come and visit our house, and feed all our animals. Though, i havent seen her eat food. I have seen her drink milk, once since i got back last night. And she hasnt eaten a thing. We watch them eat just to be sure, rosie is still eating. and she hasnt eaten. i am worried because, she has been sick, my mum thinks she is fine, and if she doesnt eat soon, we'll take her to the vet. Though i am wondering if this has happen to you, and you know what to do, or you a vet or somthing. I was wondering if she is getting it back, ? Sorry for the length. Thanks. moreVoting Question: Could I have done anything?
My cat recently had to be put down because of complications from pyometra. I feel extremely guilty because she'd been showing signs of not feeling normal for a few days, but I just thought she was in one of her "moods" where she hates the world and doesn't want to be around anyone. I only knew something was seriously wrong when I found her nearly unconscious in the living room in a big puddle of bloody pus and had to rush her to the emergency clinic. I had been putting off getting her fixed because she was an indoor kitty. We live in a very urban area so she'd never been outside or exposed to unaltered males. We had a male cat, but he was snipped when he was a kitten. But now that I'm thinking back, I realize that she had put on a bit of weight. The vet said that there was a lot of fluid in her abdomen, which would explain why she looked heavier. And a few days before we had to put her down, she was leaking some weird reddish stuff, but I thought she was just coming into heat again. I feel really guilty. Why isn't this condition more known, like the effects of heart worms and other diseases? It's just as deadly, and if you don't know the symptoms then you lose one of your best friends. I don't know. Maybe I'm just being silly, but I feel really guilty for her dieing. Like I feel like I should've noticed and done something. moreResolved Question: My cat has a bloated tummy and is vomiting?
My cat's tummy appears to be swelling a little bit, like when you look down from above it bulges out the sides, yet he's not fat anywhere else. He also vomits a lot, unless we keep him in the house (he eats out of the neighbour's bins and then vomits, but when he's only eating the cat food that we feed him, he's fine). He's always been the sort of cat that vomits quite often. I've recently put him on a food for cats with sensitive stomachs. I won't be able to take him to the vets until Tuesday, does this sound worrying to you you? He seems completely happy, and his coat is shiny. He was last wormed about 6 months ago. His appetite is as good as it's always been. Please do not imply that I do not care for my cat - if I didn't, I wouldn't be on here right now would I? There is no emergency vet, we live miles from the town, I am disabled and heaviy pregnant and worryied sick about him!! He's not a kitten, he's 8 years old and he's neutered. Like I say, he seems happy, he's purring next to me now and hasn't vomited at all today. Thank you suzy cutes, I'm thinking like you said as he seems in good humour then it's probably nothing serious, though I am still going to take him to the vets on Tuesday. He's playing with a catnip toy as we speak :) moreResolved Question: Cats worms found on the carpet I think?
